Certify and Publish Your MCP Add-ons
Amazon must certify your Alexa+ MCP add-ons before publication to customers. Your MCP add-on moves from In-Review to Certified status after it meets all necessary performance requirements and adheres to the Alexa design guidelines. If your live MCP server or MCP App falls below these standards after publication, Amazon suppresses it until it meets all necessary guidelines and standards.
The following are preliminary evaluation criteria. Amazon will provide the final evaluation criteria before general availability.
Your MCP Apps and servers must provide at a minimum:

Complete the specific tasks customers request through named invocations, as defined by the tool names and server descriptions. The experiences must respond to Alexa+ proactively.

Meet customer expectations based on the features described by your MCP server.

Have no high-severity defects that cause dead ends or that Alexa can't recover from, as these result in certification failure.

Support Alexa accessibility features, including VoiceView, Alexa Captions, Screen Magnifier, and Color Tools on Alexa multi-modal devices.

Display images that aren't pixelated or stretched on Alexa multi-modal devices.
Lifecycle stages
Your add-on moves through the following stages:
Development → In-Review → Certified → Live

| Development | You are building and testing. Full access to modify. |
| In-Review | Submitted for certification. You can view status but not modify. |
| Certified | Review passed. You can choose to publish immediately or at a later time. |
| Live | Published in the Alexa+ Store. Available to customers. |

Soft suppression — Move Live add-on back to Certified (no changes allowed). Partner-initiated or Alexa-initiated.
