Step 1: Create a Virtual Product
In this step, you create an Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) virtual product in the ACK developer console. You can have only one virtual product, and you can't delete virtual products. If you would like to work with multiple virtual products simultaneously, create an additional Amazon developer account.

Prerequisites
To access the ACK developer console, you must register for an Amazon developer account.
Create a new virtual product
To create a new virtual product
- Sign-in to the ACK developer console.

Click Products.
Note: The Development Kit always appears in your Products page as an example product, and you can't edit it. - Click Create Product.
- Enter your Product name.

In Description, enter the appropriate information for your product.
Include your brand name, model name, product name, and model of device. For example, Amazon Smart Plug V2. This information is displayed in the Alexa app.
- Enter your Manufacturer name.

For Display Category, select the appropriate product you're developing.
To complete this tutorial end-to-end exactly as-is, select LIGHT.

For Region support, select the region you're releasing your product in – Region 1 (BR, CA, MX, US), Region 2 (DE, ES, FR, IN, IT, UK), or Region 3 (AU, JP).
You can also add another supported region after you create your virtual product.
Note: You can only specify a region when you're prototyping your devices. This feature isn't available for commercialization. In addition, you must store all customer data that you process in the region that you select. - For Do you intend to distribute this product commercially, select the appropriate choice for your product.
- For Is this a children's product or is otherwise directed to children younger than 13 years old?, select the appropriate choice for your product.
- Click Create Product.
While your product is creates, a banner appears on the products page. To determine if your virtual product is ready for use, manually refresh the page.
When your virtual product is ready, a Success message appears in the banner.
