Automated testing
For functional and performance testing of your app, automated testing offers an Amazon Appstore test suite. You can concurrently run tests on a range of Amazon devices.
In the Amazon Appstore test suite, performance testing covers key performance indicators (KPIs) for latency metrics. Functional testing in the Appstore test suite includes an acceptance test that verifies app behavior during installation, launch, and exit.
To use Amazon Appstore automated testing, use the following steps
-
On the Test Your App tab, enter the test name.
The test name acts as an identifier for the different set of tests running on your apps. This is a required field.
-
Select your existing app and upload a new version of the APK, or upload a new APK that isn't associated with an existing app.
You can either drag and drop the APK file to the upload box, or your can select the file using the file explorer.
Note: While you can upload an APK that is still in development, consider uploading a fully functional APK to get more accurate results. After uploading the APK, you can see the file details including file name, size, and time of upload. If you want to upload a different APK, remove the currently uploaded APK by clicking the X in the corner of the box. Then you can upload a different APK. After the upload completes, a message indicating the upload was successful appears.
-

Available device families are Fire Tablet and Fire TV. If you want to run tests on only select device families, use the checkboxes to make your selection. When you select a device family, it includes a preselection of individual devices. Currently, you can't select a specific device to run tests on.

Note: You must select at least one device to start a test. -
Click Submit and Run Test.
After you submit your test, the console displays a notification indicating your test was submitted successfully. When the test completes, you receive an email notification. If a failure occurs, you receive a notification to make changes.
Weekly test submission limit
You can submit up to eight test runs per week. When you submit a test, an indicator displays the number of test runs you have remaining. The weekly limit resets every Monday at the start of the new week.
