Change Company Name of Developer Account

If you want to change the company name of your developer account, you can do so in the Developer Console without the need to contact the developer support team.

Change your company name

To change the company name of your developer account, you must currently be the owner.

To change the company name, follow these steps

  1. Sign in to the Developer Console.
  2. On the top navigation bar, select Settings.
  3. Select Company Profile in the sub-navigation bar.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. In the Developer name or company name field, enter the new company name.
  6. Click Save.

The following are frequently asked questions (FAQ) about changing the company name of your developer account.

Q: I am an administrator of my company developer account, can I change the company name for the developer account?
Only the current owner of the developer account can change the company name in the Developer Console.
Q: As account owner, can I allow my account administrators to change the company name in the Developer Console?
Only the account owner can use the Developer Console to change the company name for a developer account. To allow an account administrator to change the company name in the Developer Console, the developer account owner must first transfer account ownership to an administrator in the account. To transfer ownership to non-admin users such as marketers or analysts, you must first assign an admin role to those users. To change user permissions, follow these steps.
  1. Sign in to the Developer Console.
  2. On the top navigation bar, select Settings.
  3. Select the User Permissions in the sub-navigation bar.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Check the Administrator box next to the user, and click Save.

After making the user an administrator, you can transfer ownership to them. For instructions on how to change account ownership, see Change Developer Account Ownership.

Q: How frequently can I change the company name of my account in the Developer Console?
There is no limit to the number of times you can change the company name of a developer account. However, you can’t change the company name while a request to update company name is already in progress.
Q: My developer account owner is unavailable, how do I transfer account ownership and update the company name?
Only the current owner of the developer account can change the company name in the Developer Console. If the developer account owner is inactive or unavailable, an account administrator can request a transfer of ownership by contacting developer support. After ownership is transferred, the new owner can change the company name in the Developer Console.
Q: How long does it take to change the company name?
The company name change appears immediately in the Developer Console, however, it can take up to three days for the new name to propagate to your app’s detail pages on the Amazon Appstore and retail web. After the name change completes, Amazon sends a notification to the developer account and an email to the account owner to confirm the change.
